August 19, 2009 – Day 24: Quesnel, BC to Vancouver, BC – 440.59 Miles
- Fraser River, South of Kersley
Rained on and off all day, got some cool shots though. From Quesnel south the road follows parallel to the Fraser River. The road is cut from the edge of the mountains and provides some spectacular views. The colorful mountain vistas and rushing river valleys afford some great shooting opportunities, and I take full advantage of as many as possible.
I enter Vancouver around 3pm and started searching for my hotel. I had a great little GPS unit that I brought along on the trip. Unfortunately, the unit started operating erratically around Southern Idaho and by this time only worked for about 30-45 minutes when it was first turned on in the morning. When the GPS goes out I am truly operating blind. I called the hotel and asked for directions from my location. The directions were very confusing as was the person giving them. After cruising China Town, Old Town, and the Port of Vancouver, I eventually found the hotel, or should I say poop pit. The place was the pits, it’s the risk one takes when booking online reservations. The website put a definite positive spin on the hotel. This place sucked. All I wanted to do was make it through the night.
